A Night to Remember: The Joshua Tree’s 20th Anniversary Ball

On Thursday 30th April, we were proud to celebrate a truly special milestone, 20 years of The Joshua Tree supporting families affected by childhood cancer.

Held at Carden Park, the evening brought together supporters, families and friends to reflect on how far the charity has come, and to look ahead to the future.

The room was beautifully set thanks to the incredible support of volunteers from RMG UK, Ornua  and Brown & Brown, creating the perfect setting for such a meaningful occasion.

One of the most powerful parts of the evening was hearing from families supported by The Joshua Tree. With honesty and courage, they shared their personal journeys, helping to raise awareness of childhood cancer and highlighting how every experience is different. Their stories were a reminder of why our work is so important, and the impact that support can have at every stage.

We were also honoured to celebrate alongside our founders, Dai and Lynda Hill, with Joshua by their side. Seeing them reflect on how their original idea, born from their own family’s need for support, has grown into a nationwide lifeline for others was a truly special moment.

Thanks to the generosity of our guests, sponsors and supporters, including our event partner Coral Island Blackpool, sponsors Simple Life Homes and Franklyn, and drinks sponsor G&M Safety Netting, the evening was not only a celebration, but an opportunity to continue growing our support for families who need us.

Reflecting on the evening, CEO Rich said:

“A huge thank you to everyone who attended, donated, and supported our 20th Anniversary Ball last night. It was incredible to see so many people come together in one room to support The Joshua Tree.

We are here for any family affected by childhood cancer, providing ongoing, bespoke support for the whole family whenever they need it.

20 years in, and there’s so much more to come. It’s a privilege to be part of this charity.”

As we mark 20 years, we remain committed to being there for families, providing the right support, at the right time, in the right setting.
