The Story of The Joshua Tree
Supporting the emotional health and wellbeing of families affected by childhood cancers.
At The Joshua Tree, we believe that families facing the challenges of childhood cancer deserve opportunities to create joyful memories together.
That’s why we offer a range of family fun sessions each month at both our Cheshire and North Wales Support Centres. These events are designed to bring families together, providing a safe space for connection, relaxation, and enjoyment in a welcoming environment.
Our family fun sessions are held once a month, offering a chance for families to step away from their daily routines and focus on what matters most – quality time with each other.
These events are a wonderful opportunity to bond, create memories, and share experiences with other families who truly understand the journey you’re on. Whether it’s a themed activity or simply time to relax, our sessions are crafted to bring joy and relief.
We also offer Stay & Play sessions during weekday daytime hours, especially for children who are pre-school age or too poorly to attend school.
These sessions provide a gentle, fun, and supportive environment where younger children can enjoy activities and socialisation, while families can share experiences and support one another. It’s a safe, warm space for everyone to feel understood and supported.
Our after-school clubs at both locations allow school-age children to connect with their peers, make new friends, and have fun in a relaxed and supportive environment. These sessions are designed to help children feel less isolated and more connected to others who understand their unique experiences.
During school holidays, we host additional family events, providing plenty of opportunities to get involved and enjoy some much-needed fun together. These special events are designed to cater to all ages, ensuring that every family member can join in on the fun. From arts and crafts to outdoor activities, there’s something for everyone.
