The Story of The Joshua Tree
Supporting the emotional health and wellbeing of families affected by childhood cancers.
Walk Tall is a two-day walking event designed to unite Joshua Tree families.
Every childhood cancer journey is unique, but this is a chance to walk side by side, together. Wearing our green t-shirts with pride, families and supporters can share in a powerful moment of solidarity.
Whether you’re currently on a journey or walking in support of someone who is, this event is a reminder that no one faces childhood cancer alone. It’s a chance to feel empowered by a community who truly understands.
Day 1, Saturday 20th September
Begin your journey at the Sandiway Support Centre starting at 9am, heading out through scenic countryside to Blakemere Craft Centre, where we’ll take a well-earned rest before making the return walk to be back for 5pm.
Day 2, Sunday 21st September
Set off from the Colwyn Bay Support Centre at 9am and enjoy a refreshing walk along the beautiful North Wales coastal path to Llandudno Pier, where we’ll take a break before returning for 5pm.
Whether you’re ready to take on the full 30 miles over two days or prefer to join for just one, Walk Tall offers flexibility to suit all abilities and schedules.
The Sandiway route is a more challenging trek through varied countryside terrain with plenty of hills and woodland paths to explore. The Colwyn Bay route follows a flatter, coastal path, ideal for steady pacing and sea views.
Whichever path you choose, you’ll enjoy stunning scenery, fresh air, and the chance to be part of something truly meaningful.
All walkers participate with the understanding that this event involves physical effort, and are encouraged to train accordingly. A practice walk and training plan will be shared upon sign-up to help you prepare.
Family and friends are warmly invited to get involved by cheering walkers off at the start, meet them at rest points, or welcome them back to the finish line on both days.
Raising funds can be simple, and you’ll be surprised by how many people want to support you. From sharing your story to getting creative with ideas, we’ve got tips to help you reach your goal and make a real difference.
