The Story of The Joshua Tree
Supporting the emotional health and wellbeing of families affected by childhood cancers.
Children affected by childhood cancers, whether diagnosed or a sibling, can struggle to express feelings like sadness, anger, fear or guilt. These emotions may affect their confidence, relationships, and ability to focus at school, even long after treatment ends.
Sometimes it’s easier to show how we feel than to say it.
Art Therapy offers a safe, creative space for individuals to explore emotions through drawing, painting, storytelling and more.
When trauma runs deep or emotional language hasn’t yet developed, art provides a gentle way to process feelings. Our HCPC-registered Art Therapists are trained to support children at their own pace, helping them express what words can’t always capture.
Art Therapy can also be beneficial for adults. Speak to our team to find out more.
Play is a child’s natural language.
Through toys, games, and creative play, children can safely explore big emotions without needing words.
Led by qualified Play Therapists, sessions gently support emotional wellbeing, resilience, and healing in a nurturing, child-led space.
If your child’s behaviour has changed and you’re not sure why, Play Therapy can help uncover and process the impact of emotions or trauma in a safe and supportive way.
