Nine members of Mitchell Group took to the saddle to support The Joshua Tree, completing an incredible 106-mile cycle around the coast of Anglesey on Saturday 27 June.
The team faced a demanding route featuring 6,500 feet of ascent, with strong winds making an already challenging ride even tougher. Every mile they cycled was in support of families affected by childhood cancers, helping The Joshua Tree provide emotional, practical and wellbeing support to families throughout their journey.
Speaking after completing the challenge, Elliot Mitchell said:
“It was certainly a tough day with the wind, but we managed to get it done! Knowing it was all for such a worthwhile cause kept us going.
We’re absolutely delighted with the amount raised, and it’s fantastic to hear what a difference it will make to the families you support at The Joshua Tree.”
Thanks to the incredible generosity of everyone who donated, along with Mitchell Group’s match funding, the team has raised an amazing £23,000.
Donations like these help change the lives of families like Abbie’s, who was just 16 when her little sister was diagnosed with cancer.
“When my two-year-old sister Rosabella was diagnosed with cancer, our whole world changed overnight. The Joshua Tree became a place where, for a little while, cancer wasn’t the centre of everything. It became a safe place for me and my family where we could escape hospital life, whilst feeling supported along the way.”
