Cheshire Dash 2023 a challenging 100-mile cycle ride raised an astonishing £100,000 in aid of The Joshua Tree.
The Transforming Lives Foundation, set up by Mike and Catriona Marshall, chose The Joshua Tree to benefit from the popular cycling event for a second year running on Saturday 1st July.
Approx 100 riders took on the gruelling 100-mile cycle challenge through mixed weather conditions that charted across through the Cheshire countryside, all in one day.
The exclusive event sponsored by Bentley exceeded the staggering fundraising target of £60,000, and have raised £100,000 of vital funds to help the charity continue to support families affected by childhood cancers.
Danielle Percival, Joshua Tree Head of Family Support commented “We are blown away with, not only the incredible support from Transforming Lives in choosing The Joshua Tree as the beneficiary charity for a second year running, but to the groups of dedicated riders who took on the gruelling challenge of the 100-mile Cheshire Dash. Not to forget all the supporters for their encouraging cheers, event sponsors, who without the events wouldn't be possible and to everyone who has donated.
We are seeing an unprecedented increase in new referrals from families across Cheshire, North-West England and North Wales, so the incredible amount raised at this years Cheshire Dash will make a huge difference to the charity and to the lives of families affected by childhood cancers”.
To date The Joshua Tree have supported over 407 families with bespoke programmes of support to improve the emotional wellbeing and mental health of all immediate and extended family members who are affected by childhood cancers, across North-West England and North Wales, for as long as they need it.
A huge thank you to Cat and Mike Marshall for their support and to all the riders for the incredible efforts and donations!
