February Fun!

February half term saw the Support Centre filled with family fun activities. The popular ‘Bake Off’ event hosted by Chef Danielle, Head of Family Support, was all prepped to ready, set and bake delicious handmade vegetarian and sausage rolls followed by delicious cakes to be adorned with decorations. The families had a fantastic day with children, parents and grandparents taking part making mess and memories together!

Later on in the week we ran a pottery glazing workshop, providing a relaxing, therapeutic experience for families to gather and get creative while sharing special memories and ways we remember our loved ones.  The handmade ceramics created during the Celebration Event were decorated followed by a lovely hot lunch together in the heart space.
The February Family Saturday was our awesome kids wellbeing yoga workshop! During this session we increased our self-awareness, stretched and strengthened our bodies, with the help and guidance of talented Tessa from Yogakids. The Yoga allowed the children to tap into their own superpowers and learn how to be in the present moment while relaxing and gaining a peaceful state of mind! We had lots of giggles and fun too, showing off our favourite yoga moves to one another! The session finished off with making our very own heathy smoothies from fresh ingredients and learning the art of macramé crafts.
Our young adults didn’t miss out either with the highly anticipated Escape Room event! What an incredible evening had by all at the Support Centre, thanks to Dai Hill (Founder of The Joshua Tree) for all his hard work in creating the puzzles and escape room challenges and thanks to Rachel from Young Lives v Cancer for her collaboration.
We received some very kind feedback from the week that we are thrilled to share with you…
I can’t hardly begin to imagine how much work you all put into it – but it was such a fabulous day. You should know that for us, everything you do feels like a 2 week all inclusive summer holiday packed into one day! We’re so grateful. I spoke to another Mum today and she feels the same. It’s like through everything you do – you create a haven for us all’ – M (Dad)
