Shoppers at The Arley Hall Christmas Shopping Spectacular didn’t disappoint in supporting the Christmas shopping event of the year, and all for a good cause.

The highly anticipated event welcomed visitors from across the region and showcased over 55 hand-picked artisan stalls at the event. The Tuesday evening welcomed guests to an exclusive preview evening with a glass of bubbles to set the festive mood.

The Arley Hall Christmas Shopping Spectacular has raised over £165,000 for The Joshua Tree charity over the last six years, this year contributing £16,000 to the total.

Pippa Watson-Peck, Fundraising and Communications Manager at The Joshua Tree, said: “The Arley Hall Christmas Shopping Spectacular really is the beginning of the festive calendar and after 18 turbulent months from a fundraising perspective we were thrilled to see the huge number of visitors support the event and The Joshua Tree. The event simply could not happen without the incredible generosity of Lord and Lady Ashbrook, the Arley Shopping Spectacular Committee and volunteers who work tirelessly to ensure the event is a success.

"The money raised from the event will go towards supporting families affected by childhood cancers, as the referrals we are receiving are of a record high.”

Arley Hall has been home to the Ashbrook family since the 15th century, and the Christmas Shopping Spectacular was set up in 1991 by a committee, including Lady Ashbrook, to support children's charities over a five-year term. The Joshua Tree began its six-year partnership with Arley in 2016.
