The Joshua Tree is delighted to have received a £10,000 donation from Together, who have been helping people, businesses and property professionals realise their ambitions for nearly 50 years.
The funding will help The Joshua Tree achieve its ambition to support families affected by a childhood cancer diagnosis and provide bespoke support for two families for 12 months, with an average support cost per family of over £5,000.
The Joshua Tree has been providing bespoke programmes of support to improve the emotional well-being and mental health of all family members affected by a childhood cancer diagnosis for 17 years and has seen an unprecedented increase in new family referrals.
Kevin Fisher, People Director, at Together said: “Our business has always taken pride in backing local charities like Joshua Tree who provide essential support to the community.
“The effects of childhood cancer are devastating, and we know how hard it is for families to come to terms with this heart-breaking diagnosis, both mentally and physically.
“The staff and facilities at Joshua Tree create an amazing environment to support children and their families who are going through some of the toughest times of their lives. We are very proud to be able to support Joshua Tree in continuing to provide these families with life-changing care and assistance.”
Danielle Percival, Joshua Tree Head of Family Support said: "We are thrilled to receive support from Together. With such a high increase in new family referrals year on year, the funding is vital to help us continue to support existing and new families who are experiencing the devastating impact a childhood cancer diagnosis can have, not only on the poorly child but the wider family".
