New Support Centre

The new Support Centre provides an appropriate and much needed environment for families, accommodating children of all ages from toddlers through to teenagers and will feature a multi-functional activity room, counselling suites, soft play and sensory equipment, a games room, office facilities, an outdoor play area and landscaped gardens all of which will further enhance the support service.

After 14 years of fundraising we are excited to be able to welcome families to a tranquil setting where they can access the support they require for all members of the family affected by a childhood cancer.

The landscaping is the final part of the project to be completed, click on the clip below to see the flyover of the proposed designs. If you can help support us complete this vision then get in touch with the fundraising team we would love to hear from you.

Lynda Hill
"Providing our families with a safe and appropriate environment with a range of indoor and outdoor activities designed to stimulate the children, will allow the family to experience much-needed quality time together away from the confines of hospital treatment."

The floor plan below shows Phase One of our new Support Centre which started construction in May.

Our families and beneficiaries have been a major influence in the layout and facilities available in the new Support Centre and we are incredibly excited to be constructing what will be a very welcome addition to the charity.

The Joshua Tree Support Centre Plan

The Den

Not the usual type of hospital sensory room.

When the centre is quiet, the room will be transformed into a haven of peace to allow children to either sleep or simply relax whilst watching bubble tubes and/or interactive wall can be used as an activity along with the soft play toys.

A 'snug' area will provide a quiet space for story reading

Play Room

A large multi-functional space with tables and chairs for the children to play as well as a sink and a storage area to house a large dishwasher for cleaning the toys as part of our infection control procedures.

Games Room

A flexible games space which can be used by the children with a pool/snooker table, indoor football and basketball etc.

Heart space

Table and chairs for informal meetings and dining, desk space and beautiful views out to landscaped gardens.

Therapy/Pamper Rooms

Two rooms for small group counselling/therapy/pamper or treatment sessions

Playground

With children at its heart, the playground is centred with our Joshua Tree House, using coloured artificial grass and a structured play system, the children will be able to play freely in a safe and secure play area normally out of bounds due to infection control issues.

Please continue to support us as we fund raise towards the completion of the new Support Centre through our #digdeep campaign and look forward to opening our doors in 2020!
