We were delighted to welcome representatives from Barratt Redrow to The Joshua Tree Support Centre as we celebrated their generous sponsorship of our family accommodation spaces.
Barratt Redrow have kindly sponsored both of our on-site accommodation lodges for the next two years, helping us expand the support we can offer to families affected by childhood cancer across the UK.
These spaces provide families with a place to stay when attending services at The Joshua Tree, offering comfort, connection and time together in a safe and supportive environment.

Why accommodation matters for families
For many families navigating childhood cancer, staying close to specialist hospitals is essential. Children undergoing treatment often need to remain within a safe travelling distance of hospital care in case urgent medical support is required.

Our accommodation allows families to travel from across the UK to access The Joshua Tree’s emotional health and wellbeing support, while remaining within close distance of Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.
By providing a place for families to stay while attending services at our Cheshire centre, these lodges help make our support accessible to families beyond the local area. This is an important step in transforming The Joshua Tree from a regional charity into one that can support families nationwide.
Named by the children we support
As part of this special partnership, we invited the children and families we support to help name the accommodation. With a wildlife theme, the two lodges are now proudly called:
Bumblebee Lodge
Hedgehog Lodge

The children also created beautiful artwork to display inside the lodges, adding their own creativity and personality to the spaces and helping make them feel warm and welcoming for the families who will stay there.

Supporting families when they need it most
Partnerships like this play an essential role in helping The Joshua Tree continue providing emotional health and wellbeing support to children and families affected by childhood cancer, ensuring we can offer vital programmes, safe spaces and specialist support for families navigating their childhood cancer journey.

As a non-profit charity, we are committed to supporting families whenever they need us. However, to sustain and grow our services, we rely on the generosity of organisations and individuals who share our mission.
We are incredibly grateful to Barratt Redrow for their support and look forward to seeing the positive impact this partnership will have for the families we support.
